Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor for a permanent position on an Industrial Cleaning contract for our client in a well known Steelworks Facility based in Newport, South Wales.Duties include management of industrial cleaning, sub-contractor management, equipment management, auditing and inspections, ownership of area KPIs, admin duties and HR aspects. The supervisor is required to manage daily scheduled tasks within a satisfactorytime scales and be flexible to work maintenance periods and move around sites as required.Responsibilities will include:Customer Service

  • Attending client contract meetings and training events.
  • Ensuring a high standard of service is delivered in accordance with the work schedule.
  • Ensuring all site personnel are complying with customers service/satisfaction systems.
  • Ensuring through a good maintenance programme plant equipment is available.
  • Build, track and report on KPIs
Team Management
  • Allocate tasks to operatives, by experience, ability and skill level, and manage rotas.
  • Assist Plant Managers in carrying out training through toolbox talks to ensure the continuous development of employees.
  • Monitoring the performance of operatives to ensure high standards are delivered and maintained
  • Ensuring that Company Health and Safety Policy is properly implemented and adhered to.
  • Ensuring operatives comply with SWPs as directed by Standard Operating Systems/Procedures Work Method and Risk Assessment
  • Attending disciplinary process as required
Administrative Responsibility
  • To control and identify means of reducing costs and implement cost effective solutions.
  • To liaise over manning, equipment and machinery requirements.
  • To ensure that Company Policies and Procedures are fully implemented, adhered to and communicated.
  • Advise and assist in the preparation and review of Standard Operations Systems/Procedures, Risk, Manual Handling and COSHH assessments.
  • Assist in completion of documentation as required by Quality/Health and Safety and Environmental/Management Systems.
  • Provide cover or assistance when required for the supervisors or other roles.
Key competencies
  • Good numerical and IT skills (shift reporting / maintenance feedback / delivery of Toolbox Talks)
  • Ability to assist in payroll and time keeping duties
  • IOSH
  • Competent in creating Safe Systems of Work / Risk Assessments / COSHH assessments.
  • Managing team holidays, timekeeping, sickness and training records.
  • Train the Trainer
  • Flexibility to work additional hours
  • Good organisational skills
