Job Description

Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Inside IR35 - £550 p/day - SC Cleared - Newport - 6 Months Contract - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEWYolk Recruitment are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in the UK. The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including virtualisation platforms such as VMware,and a high level of automation experience. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience within a similar role, preferably working in a secure environment.Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement infrastructure and virtualisation across multiple projects using Microsoft and VMware technologies and techniques
  • Provide support to bids and execute work packages for projects or programmes
  • Hands-on deployment of knowledge of Microsoft and virtualisation techniques, including fault finding and problem solving
  • Support other enabling technologies
  • Build and maintain good relationships with Secure Systems Design Authorities, Lead Delivery Engineers, and third party COTS product suppliers
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working with 24/7 high availability and highly secure systems, including identifying design risks
  • Knowledge of JSPs, Cabinet Office Technical Design Documents, CESG GPGs, and NATO STANAGs
  • Experience working within UK MOD, NATO, or Central Government environments
  • Experience with security hardening and lockdown of systems
  • Experience implementing certificate-based network solutions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to identify technical issues
Education/Training:
  • Engineering Apprentice with HNC-D or Engineering qualification to degree level
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • Demonstrable skills/qualifications in Microsoft Windows Security, MCSE 2016 design level, Microsoft Windows Server, workstation operating systems, distributed Active Directory management, Microsoft Exchange 2013+, MS SCOM 2016 R2, MS SCCM 2016 R2, SQL Server2008-2016, MS SharePoint, MS IIS, WSUS, WDS, MDT & DFS, VMware design level experience, Group Policy, Windows 7/10, Veeam Backup, TCP/IP networks, antivirus software, knowledge of networks, automation via scripting, hybrid cloud platforms and applications,and ITIL v3.
