Job Description

SEN-ASD TeacherHours: Part time/Full time also availableJob type: long term (temp to permanent)Location: NewportPay: £151.70-£200 per dayStart date: September 2023We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN ASD (Special Educational Needs Autism Spectrum Disorder) Teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with autism and contribute to their educationaland personal development.Position Overview:As an SEN ASD Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized educational programs for students with autism spectrum disorder. You will work closely with students, parents, and a multidisciplinary team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.Your role will involve:

  • Developing and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of students with autism.
  • Assessing students abilities, strengths, and areas for development to inform individualized learning plans.
  • Utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies and accommodations to support students academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
  • Implementing visual aids, assistive technology, and other resources to enhance learning experiences.
  • Collaborating with parents, carers, and external professionals to foster effective communication and partnerships.
  • Monitoring students progress and providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Conducting assessments, maintaining records, and preparing reports to monitor students achievements and milestones.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Specialization or additional training in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) education is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working with students with ASD in a teaching or support capacity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ASD characteristics, interventions, and evidence-based practices.
  • Familiarity with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement personalized learning strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic educational environment.
