Job Description

The Material Planners responsibility is to create a practical supply plan for the short to mid-term period that fulfils the Material Requirements Plan (MRP), customer orders, and inventory policy goals. They execute the plan by considering Production Readinessand scheduling, conducting thorough capacity planning, and addressing any imbalances. They collaborate with the internal and external Supply Base to reach satisfactory resolutions.Client DetailsA world leader in its field who manufacture premium products to fulfil all customers needs.DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Establishing supply parameters in the (ERP) tool by item file for individual areas of activity that align with stock targets and the industrial strategy
  • Participating in the validation process of the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) and analysing and processing exception messages resulting from the MRP, such as order changes or cancellations
  • Being accountable for the on-time performance of the defined group of suppliers, communicating any discrepancies, and working closely with internal Quality teams to resolve them
  • Confirming and communicating any necessary modifications resulting from the MRP to the supplier, and communicating to internal customers where applicable, escalating if necessary
  • Issuing schedule agreements or purchase orders in line with ERP recommendations for both first and second tiers
  • Obtaining acknowledgement from the supplier for any changes or modifications to requirements
  • Negotiating deadlines and quantities with suppliers within the limits of the contract established by the Purchasing team, excluding pricing negotiations
ProfileThe successful candidate will have
  • Good understanding of the workings of an ERP system and previous experience working within an ERP System particularly material scheduling
  • Production or material scheduling experience in fast paced, high volume industry
  • Risk management experience including reduction and assessment of risks
  • Competent Microsoft user including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills including execution and implementation of change process
