Job Description

The RoleThe Contract Services Laboratory Technician role entails:
  • Oversight of all lab based equipment and pipettes to ensure compliance with calibration, verification, maintenance and service requirements.
  • Co-ordination with other departments for arranging pipette calibration clinics will require good communication & organisation skills.
  • Assist scientists with equipment and buffer preparation for experiments.
  • Ensure lab stocks of consumables and materials are completed as per KANBAN.
  • Proper disposal of hazardous & non-hazardous chemical waste, clinical waste & biohazardous waste.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with scientists experiments when requested.
  • Defrost and clean of Category II laboratory fridges and freezers.
RequirementsThe job-holder will enjoy working in a busy laboratory environment, ensuring the everyday functioning of the lab and supporting the scientist team in development of immunoassay products.Prior laboratory experience in a technician role would be an advantage but is not essential. Training in all relevant laboratory and equipment procedures will be provided as required.If you are an internal employee applying for this vacancy you and your manager are required to complete an internal transfer form.
