Job Description

Junior Plumbing & Heating Engineer / Plumbers Mate required for a renewable energy installation contractor based near Chepstow/Newport, most of their projects are working on large residential and commercial projects.The Junior Heating Engineer will be working as part of an installation team supporting the Operations Director.Typical project and installation work would include working on the pipework installation of large renewable heating systems either biomass boiler or heat pumps, which will include carrying out the ground works. This is an outdoor all-weather job, undertakingall aspects of general labouring including practical work and lifting so the successful candidate will need to be physically fit.The role is at junior engineer / mate level so our client will consider a candidate that has some practical knowledge of plumbing and heating systems as well as some academic experience such as an NVQ in Plumbing and Heating. Previous groundwork experiencewill be advantageous.Position Overview

  • Work as part of a two-man installation team, under the direction of a lead heating engineer.
  • Work on a mixture of properties, from larger domestic manor house properties to higher-end commercial jobs
  • Work in various roles - pipe fitting, lagging, filling, heat pumps, and boiler systems including fuel stores, ventilation, flues, groundworks, manifolds and chambers.
  • Work with 28mm-54mm+ pipe in copper and steel.
  • Before going to site, liaise with the project manager to plan what equipment, tools parts and programme/time information is needed for a projects electrical installation.
Junior Plumbing & Heating Engineer / Plumbers Mate Position Requirements
  • Drivers license- no more than 3 points.
  • Desire to learn about renewable energy systems.
  • Good knowledge of UK Building and Water Regulations and to comply with them.
  • Good understanding of flushing, inhibitors, additives needed for heating systems.
  • Full driving licence with transport to get to the yard
  • Based within a commutable distance of Chepstow/Newport
Junior Plumbing & Heating Engineer / Plumbers Mate Position Remuneration
  • Salary £20,000 - £30,000
