Job Description

Electrician (Compliance) Social housing provider in Newport Permanent job, up to £33,608.44Vehicle will be provided!Great Benefits!As a Compliance Electrician you will liaise daily with customers ensuring their homes are safe therefore excellent customer service and communication skills are essential for this role. You will conduct statutory cyclical electrical and fire alarm inspection and testing across our customers homes and NCH buildings. It is essential that you hold a relevant electrical qualification, 18th Edition Electrical Regulation and Inspection and Testing Qualification with City & Guilds 2391 /2392 or 2394 / 2395 or equivalent.Main Responsibilities:You will To carry out statutory cyclical electrical inspection and testing on housing stock and buildings to ensure installations comply with the electrical and fire safety regulations. You will also carry out inspection, testing and maintenance of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.

  • Carry out portable appliance testing (PAT) and fixed appliance testing to electrical equipment owned by NCH.
  • Undertake electrical repair work including replacing defective lighting circuits, switches, controls, communal lighting, emergency lighting, and other associated tasks as required.
  • Inspect and test emergency and communal lighting and where required carry out remedial electrical repairs.
  • Carry out electrical condition reports within the housing stock and provide condition information to allow an effective planned maintenance programme.
  • Carry out testing and repairs to fire alarms and emergency lighting installations, report future repairs to allow an effective planned programme of work.
    • Requirements:
  • Hold a relevant electrical qualification, including 18th Edition Electrical Regulations and Inspection and Testing Qualification.
  • Experience of testing and inspecting electrical installations (including periodic inspections) and completion of relevant paperwork.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of statutory regulations relating to electrical installations and fire safety.
  • City & Guilds 2391 /2392 or 2394 / 2395 or equivalent.
  • Experience using repairs and maintenance IS Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include strong communication skills (verbal and written), customer service and rapport-building skills with the ability to deal effectively with queries and complaints and excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Full driving licence.
