Our diversityand teamwork culture propel us to accomplish the extraordinary - on theground, in the sky and in space.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Configuration Manager within CyberSecurity Division in Airbus Defence & Space in Newport and as such you willbe required to hold UK SC Clearance with the ability to gain UK DV SecurityClearance in the future to undertake the roleReporting directly to the Head of Engineering you will have responsibilityfor a team of Configuration Engineers to deliver first line ConfigurationManagement services to programme(s).You will work within a team with multiple responsibilities and you will beexpected to be able to be a strong influencer where required on businessdecisions.The Role- You will provide direction and governance of business processes, ensuredesignated programme (s) are operating to the desired and documented levelsof control and discipline.- Continuous development of your team to develop both technical andbehavioural excellence, motivating team members, performance managing andproviding technical guidance to deliver an effective team performance.- Leading the application of Configuration measures within projects,including Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accountingand Auditing.- Defining strong relationships with designated programme stakeholders(Head of Engineering, Head of Programme(s) and System Design Authorirty, tosuccessfully promote and demonstrate the value and importance ofConfiguration Management.- Take ownership of the individual work packages for designatedprogramme(s), ensuring the required levels of funding are available tosupport an agreed statement of work, the monthly resource effort is managedand coordinated with project, and that the required- Develop and maintain the processes relating to configuration managementwithin the Airbus Business Management and Quality Systems- Ensure best industry practice is followed adhering to ISO 9001, ISO 10001& 10007 standards are maintained- Own, define and verify the requirements for the production and analysisof registers and histories of authorised assets- Experience of being a Configuration Manager for > 3years / at least >5experience as a Configuration SpecialistTasks and Competencies:As a key member of the team this role includes many facets in the work doneand the experience that the successful candidate will be able to:- Provide the appropriate and rapid answer to customer request ensuringthat they have involved and consulted with all the relevant team members.- Continuously manage priorities within a very condensed time frames- Analyse the criticality of customer issues and to provide technicalsolutions to the customer on all types of queries arising outside ofstandard working hours.- Perform configuration management activities of the product in service(e.g. product/project retrofit)- Implement and follow material support processes throughout product lifecycles- Forecast and manage internal and subcontracted technical data work orders- Ability to apply knowledge of High Grade Crypto development.Experience and Qualifications:- CM2 Accreditation is desirable but not essential as training can beprovided.- Experience in a similar role within the defence sector is advantageous.- An understanding of the product development lifecycle within electronicmanufacturing would be an advantage.- Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or arelated field- Masters degree a plus- Experience with configuration management tools- Experience managing complex IT projects- Strong analytical skillsIn return we can offer a great compensation package with annual profitshare; a growing list of company benefits and career development optionsacross our transnational, market leading companyThis role is based at our Airbus Defence and Space offices, Newport, SouthWales, and involves working within the UK Defence industry, requiring theapplicant to be able to be security cleared to a UK SC level.We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race,colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age,citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity orexpression, or veteran status.
