Job Description

The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for a software developer with experience in Computer Vision to join a growing team working at the cutting edge of home diagnostics testing. The role will support continued development of the technology including adding newcapabilities and improving existing processes. The team is growing to support continues business expansion.This position would suit someone who has a strong background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or digital signal processing with a keen interest in classic machine vision approaches as well as understanding where novel machine learning technologymay compliment them.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
  • Maintaining and enhancing the functionality in BBIs proprietary imaging library - typically prototyping in Python and delivering production ready code in C, C++, or C#.
  • You will be driven by a desire to deliver working code into real world problems.
  • Understand the challenges real users of the technology face and designing solutions to overcome them, including adding to the BBI intellectual property portfolio.
  • Identifying ways to improve our internal processes and toolsets to accelerate development, build more robust readers and get innovations to market quicker.
  • Build software libraries and their accompanying documentation and data sets in a way that will demonstrate to customers, regulators and others that it may be relied upon to make, at times critical, decisions in challenging environments.
  • Whilst your role will likely not require day-to-day customer interaction, you will be able to discuss the complex ideas underpinning the technology with both internal and external stakeholders at a level appropriate to technologists from other science disciplines,and with an appreciation for the commercial realities of commercial software systems.
