Job Description

CNC OperatorSouth Wales21154/620£26,000 + further benefitsA leading manufacturer of complex mechanical components is looking to add to its progressive engineering CNC team. You will be provided with excellent training opportunities to develop your skills within CNC Machining / Programming. Providing to an internationalsupplier base, this company has an enviable reputation as a market leader in their field across the globe. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop with in one of South Wales most stable businesses.Role & Responsibilities:

  • Generating CNC programmes
  • Ensuring components are machined to latest issue drawing
  • Ensuring tooling, fixtures, gauges, drawings etc are available, prepared and the machining process is documented and understood in readiness for the next job
  • Ensuring thread gauges are used in line with the check procedures
  • Recording critical dimensions on associated inspection sheet
  • Carry out basic maintenance in line with PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance)
  • Recording and reporting Non-Conformance to component and machine
  • Feedback to engineering any machining process improvement ideas drawing tolerance amendments required
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Preferably a qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline OND/HND/HNC
  • 2 years experience working in a manufacturing/engineering discipline, preferably within a bespoke mechanical engineering environment
  • Time served CNC Operator
  • CNC machining techniques/capabilities/workshop practices
  • Experience of machining exotic metals (stainless, super duplex, Inconel etc)
