Job Description

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and well-motivated Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join the team at the Molecular Microbiology laboratory in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board at our Grange University Hospital site, however there will also be opportunity to rotate to both the Royal Gwent and Nevill Hall Hospital sites.We are looking to employ suitably qualified Biomedical Scientists, who have HCPC registration, relevant experience in Microbiology and have completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio. We would also welcome applications from enthusiastic staff currently employed at Band 5 level who are currently undertaking or are willing to undertake the IBMS Specialist Portfolio which may lead to Band 6 opportunities in the future once completed.Full time, part time or job share applications will be considered.Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is currently undertaking a once in a career transformation of how healthcare will be delivered in South East Wales and we are looking for an exceptional and highly motivated Biomedical Scientist to join a team providing high quality Microbiology services.If your values align with our Pathology vision below then this is the challenging role for youDelivering a leading, people centred service which is innovative, dynamic and continually improvingAnd here are the essential facts………….The Department processes a wide variety of clinical samples using both manual and automated methodology. We cover a variety of services, such as Bacteriology, Serology, Mycology, Molecular Diagnostics and Andrology. Molecular Microbiology is based at The Grange University Hospital (Cwmbran), Bacteriology, Virology and GU Medicine services are based at Royal Gwent Hospital (Newport) and Andrology is based Nevill Hall Hospital (Abergavenny) and you may be required to work at either site according to the demands of the service.
