Job Description

Business Unit: Internal Audit Salary range:Circa £48,000 depending on experience + red hot benefitsLocation: Remote - work from anywhere within the UK with occasional travel required to the Glasgow or Gosforth hub.Dont settle for dull. Live a life more Virgin.Our TeamWere hiring for a Senior Auditor to join our Internal Audit Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to improve risk and controls, and to deliver an assurance plan that supports the Banks Purpose and strategy. In this role youll be supporting the audit teamto provide independent assurance over the Banks key risk areas, (specifically within Business Banking) and provide timely and insightful engagement with a commercial focus.What youll be doing

  • Developing a great understanding of the business areas you work with and building strong relationships with your key stakeholders
  • Engaging those stakeholders with a purpose-led approach on audit delivery, risk management and the control environment
  • Supporting the development and delivery of a relevant, high quality and value-add audit plan for your area. Youll also work with the wider team to take a “best team” approach to audits for other areas of our annual audit plan
  • Keeping pace with internal audit best practice and have a growth mindset
  • Promoting risk management, governance and control awareness through proactive coaching with our stakeholders and development activities in our team
We need you to have
  • A risk and control mindset - Were looking for people who have a growing awareness or are developing their experience supporting the business to manage risk and/or assure controls across a range of risk disciplines
  • Growing expertise in Business Banking, including a good understanding of the systems, processes and the risks that the area faces
  • Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and their teams to agree and develop solutions or improve processes
  • Ability to summarise complex issues/observations and be able to clearly articulate them
  • Experience in reviewing and analysing operational processes and controls
  • A pragmatic approach and an aptitude for problem solving
  • Be a critical thinker and have the confidence to challenge others to think differently
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team, and have a desire to learn and contribute to the success of the team
Its a bonus if you have but not essential
  • Practical experience in delivering audits or assurancework
