Job Description

The OrganisationNigel Wrights Supply Chain and Procurement Team are working with a dynamic, not for profit organisation seeking to employ a Procurement Category Manager to work within a dedicated Procurement Team.The Client will support a hybrid working week and offers flexible start and finish times.The OpportunityThe Procurement Category Manager will manage specific categories:

  • Developing and implementing Category strategies- focusing upon best value
  • Act as a central point of contact - building relationships internally and advising key internal stakeholders as to procurement best practice, routes to market and will consult upon contract management, negotiations etc
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, leading key procurement and tender activity
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Market and spend analysis of specific category portfolio
About You
  • Proven track record within a similar Indirect procurement role - experience of public sector procurement essential
  • Category Management experience within repairs and maintenance, construction or facilities managementbeneficial
  • Commercially focussed, experienced in end to end tender process (including spec-writing), strengths in supplier relationship management essential
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Assertive and self-sufficient with strong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to manage multiple projects and to work on own initiative
  • Diligent and analytical with a keen eye for detail
  • CIPS/partial-CIPS beneficial not essential
