Salary: Band 10 £42,582 - £46,437 (Increasing to £42,942 - £46,830 from September 2023 following a transitional pay award period)Based at: Location - agile between home and Forth Banks Police Station, Newcastle. The majority of your time will be working from home with at least one day a week working from Forth Banks. You will also need to be able to attend meetings at otherstations throughout the region, on an ad hoc basis.The role:We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Business Partner.Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will have the autonomy to make your mark within your category of expertise, contributing to the corporate objectives and priorities by providing specialist professional advice and guidance to the Force in all aspectsof procurement.You will be assigned your own Procurement Category to manage, responsible for engaging with Senior Business users and managing the performance of key strategic contracts within that defined category area, as well as identifying potential savings opportunities.You will also have line management responsibility for junior members of the team, overseeing their work and being heavily involved in their development.What will I be doingYou will be acting in partnership with your key internal and external stakeholders, you’ll manage complex, high value procurement projects that are key to delivering good quality services.You will be a key strategic advisor, confident and clear thinking, providing expert support and making sure projects achieve the best possible outcomes.What do I needMCIPS-qualified (or working towards this), you’ll have a proven track record of expert knowledge and experience of procurement and managing complex, high value projects with multiple stakeholders - ideally in the public sector.Adept at devising strategies, including innovative commercial arrangements or new service delivery models, you’ll understand the end-to-end procurement process and have plenty of experience leading multi-disciplined teams. With commercial acumen and greatpeople skills, this could be your opportunity to stretch your talents to the full.There will be line management responsibilities so it would great for you to bring that experience and knowledge to share within the team.Benefits:
