Job Description

The roleNigel Wright are currently recruiting a Maintenance Manager for a food manufacturing business based in the North East. Embarking on an exciting expansion journey, they are looking for an capable engineering candidate that has experience managing a team. Asthe lead for the engineering function, you will ensure the team are equipped to deliver a preventative maintenance strategy, whilst ensuring that equipment availability meets/exceeds KPIs. Working closely with the NPD team, you will work to identify opportunitiesand new technologies.As the team grows, you will play a pivotal rolein their career development, ensuring accountability, ownership and strong cross functional relationships.RequirementsIn order to be considered for this role, candidates will ideally have experience working within food manufacturing, although for the right candidate, experience in other FMCG businesses would be advantageous.Driven by their values, the role would suit anindividual that is able to lead by example, looks to create an environment where people feel empowered to make decisions and where new ideas are encouraged.Duties include:

  • Leading a proactive maintenance function, responsible across all machinery and facilities
  • Planning and scheduling all maintenance, installation of new equipment and improvement work for the site
  • Influencing and improving operational effectiveness by working closely with Production and increasing mean time between failures
  • Establishing a best practice maintenance plan that can be utilised across other sites
  • Developing the planned maintenance strategy
  • Working cross functionally to identify equipment opportunities and new technologies
  • Working to develop a team of first class engineers that are able to increase their levels of responsibility on the site
