Job Description

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Leaving Care Support Worker to work within Newcastle Council. This is a full time hybrid position, and we are paying £18 per hour for this role.The role:As a Leaving Care Support Worker, your primary responsibility is to provide guidance, support, and assistance to young adults transitioning from the care system to independent living. Your role is crucial in helping them develop essential life skills, fosteringindependence, and promoting their overall well-being.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement personalized support plans for each young adult, focusing on their unique needs, strengths, and aspirations.
  • Assist in the transition from care facilities to independent living, addressing challenges and promoting self-sufficiency.
  • Facilitate workshops and one-on-one sessions to enhance practical life skills such as budgeting, cooking, job hunting, and maintaining a household.
  • Support the development of emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and resilience among young adults.
  • Collaborate with educational and vocational resources to help young adults pursue further education, training, or employment opportunities.
  • Provide guidance on career planning, resume building, and interview skills.
  • Assist in securing suitable accommodation, ensuring young adults are aware of their housing rights and responsibilities.
  • Provide ongoing support to maintain stable housing situations and address any housing-related issues.
Applicant Requirements:
  • Qualifications:GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths.Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience
  • Experience:2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance:Current Standard DBS check.
  • Travel:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours:37hours p/w.
