Job Description

Central Employment are delighted to be supporting a repeat Creative client based in the North East, as they look to recruit a Junior Graphic Designer. Reporting into the Lead Designer, working alongside other likeminded creatives, you’ll work on and support with a number of multi-disciplined projects and creative activities ranging from Artwork, Brand, Print and Digital.Purpose of the Junior Graphic Designer:-On a day -to-day basis, you’ll be contributing creative ideas to bring client projects to life, producing sketches and computer based designs and working on both digital and print projects. With a strong eye for detail and precision, you’ll also have strong typography and communication skills.Main responsibilities:

  • Organising your work load, working to tight deadlines and prioritising tasks to keep on top of multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Communicate with account leads where relevant, orientating them with progress and reporting on completed work and results
  • Designing and building e-mail marketing solutions on behalf of clients.
  • Managing multiple design briefs and allocating the relevant amount of time according to the value of the project.
  • Interpreting the client’s brief and developing concepts to suit their purpose and objectives.
  • Developing design briefs by gathering information through research.
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.
  • Presenting ideas and concepts to clients or account managers.
  • Working with a range of media.
  • Copywriting and proofreading to produce accurate and high quality work.
  • Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches to develop concepts and ideas.
  • Working on layouts and artwork ready for print.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and software, particularly design programmes such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver etc.Designing for responsive websites.
  • Experience required:
  • 1-2 years’ creative/design experience would be preferable
  • A strong portfolio is essential.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a design related subject.
  • A creative mind-set, and an eye for detail and precision.
  • Proficient in Adobe design packages
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • HTML/CSS experience e is desirable
