Projects.As an Infrastructure Engineer youll be working on the design and implementation of innovative infrastructure solutions to build and improve our digital workplace, helping thousands of DWP users to connect and work in a more intuitive and seamless way. Youllbe using your skills and experience in technologies like Linux, Hypervisors and server infrastructure to design and maintain a quality service and ensure issues are investigated and appropriate action is taken.What skills, knowledge and experience will you need

  • IT Infrastructure: Builds, configures, administers and supports infrastructure technologies and solutions such as: compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure and software relating to Linux server environments.
  • Technical Breadth: Has a deep understanding of the technical concepts required for the role and understands how these fit into the wider technical landscape, specifically in relation to Linux server and associated technologies. We are looking for candidateswith Skills in the following:
  • Linux Operating Systems - Red Hat and/or Oracle Linux
  • Hypervisors - vSphere (VMware) and/or OLVM (Oracle)
  • Server Infrastructure - HPE BladeSystem and/or Nutanix Hyper-converged Hardware Platform
  • Configuration management & Automation - Ansible and/or strong skills in scripting languages such as Bash, YAML
  • Managing a quality service: Develop, implement, maintain and review systems and services to ensure delivery of professional excellence. Work with stakeholders to set priorities, objectives and timescales. Successfully deliver high quality outcomes thatmeet the customers needs and gives value for money. Identify risks, resolve issues efficiently, develop suggestions for improvements.
  • Problem Management: Ensures that the right actions are taken to investigate, resolve and anticipate problems. Coordinates the team to investigate problems, implement solutions and take preventative measures. Able to dissect a problem to its component partsto identify and diagnose root causes. Able to troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities. Takes accountability of issues that occur and is proactive in searching for potential problems. Achieves excellent user outcomes.
