Job Description

Export Sales Manager - New Business Development£ Competitive salary based on experience + performance related bonusNewcastle upon Tyne The Company D-Line (Europe) is a fast-growing UK company with a global reputation for innovative cable management products. The companys range includes the worlds fastest to fit cable trunking system and is used by DIYers and professional tradesmen around the globe.Their cable management products are protected by global patents and D-Lines products are stocked by many of the worlds best known DIY and electrical retailers including B&Q, Homebase, Screwfix, Bunnings, Castorama, OBI and Bauhaus.In 2021, D-Lines exports grew by over 40% and it successfully launched into new international markets (now sold in more than 30 countries). The companys success has been recognised by Queens Awards and an Export Champions award in 2021.Given the recent growth in international markets, the company is looking to strengthen the export team with the appointment of a new Export Sales Manager, who will focus on new business development and developing new business with existing customers.The RoleThis role will suit a dynamic team player with a can-do attitude who possesses strong new business development skills and also the ability to develop sales to existing customers. The role will require the ability to research new business opportunities indefined European markets and a professional approach to convert targeted retailers into new customers, having analysed the market and competitors offer.International travel to key international markets is a pre-requisite for the role.Key Responsibilities

  • Researching potential new customers, distributors and retailers in mainland Europe within DIY retailers, electrical appliance outlets and trade/ hardware outlets
  • Opening new export sales channels and achieving monthly sales targets
  • Creating targeted presentations that highlight the opportunities to improve the customers existing range with D-Lines innovative products.
  • Proactively approach new distributors and retailers in Europe
  • Work with DIT and government support agencies to obtain in market support and export grants where applicable.
  • Analyse product and transport costs to ensure that the profitability of all commercial offers is carefully evaluated
  • Develop promotional plans for European retailers and distributors.
  • Analysing sales and stock figures to provide input for Internal production forecasts.
  • Carrying out international translations where required for commercial presentations and new product listings.
  • Supporting retailers and distributors requests for digital marketing collateral (images, videos, key product text)
The Person
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working with International DIY retailers (For example Leroy Merlin, Bauhaus, OBI, Castorama, Byggmax, etc..) and/or Electrical retailers in Europe
  • Able to demonstrate previous success and results in building new business in international markets
  • Fluency in 2 or more languages (spoken and written) preferably French and German or Italian.
  • Knowledge and experience of developing business in some of the following markets: Sweden, Denmark, Poland, France, Italy, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, Middle East
  • Highly driven and experience of working in a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Ambitious and ability to grow within the company
  • Strong administration skills and working to deadlines
  • A business or languages degree would be preferred
