Job Description

Do you have excellent leadership skills along with experience in delivering services to Government clientsWe have an exciting opportunity for an expense compliance and relocation manager to join us at SSCL. The ideal candidate will manage services across multiple teams and multiple clients. As well as supporting the Supervisor to ensure running of the Team,you will identify and deliver strategic plans in relation to growth, service improvements, process improvements, changes and initiatives into BAU.This is a permanent and full time role, and we would be looking for candidates to be aligned to either our Newcastle, Newport or York offices.We are offer hybrid working, where you will spend two days in the office and the rest working from home!What you’ll be doing

  • Oversee the team to ensure they are appropriately equipped to meet set targets and adhere to all controls in place
  • Engage in 1-2-1’s with the team, making sure all training is completed
  • Ensure Expense Compliance Controls are documented appropriately and updated in a timely manner; this includes identifying and introducing new controls as deemed necessary.
  • Use of six sigma methodology to lead and support on Continuous Improvement across a broad spectrum of Payroll and Expenses processes, driving improvements forward and feeding back to senior management.
  • Raise any issues of service incidents as soon as they are identified, taking a key role in their resolution, root cause analysis and implementing process improvements/controls that are formed as part of the solution
  • Keep yourself and your teams up to date with the clients expense and relocation policies and any Payroll and HMRC requirements that impact expenses
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements both internal and external; this includes 3402, NAO, freedom of information requests and subject access requests
  • Organise, chair and lead on scheduled and adhoc calls with your immediate teams, wider SSCL teams and the clients; ensuring appropriate actions are taken and followed through to fruition
  • Review and impact assess all change requests related to your teams processes
  • Support ongoing and new improvement initiatives; demonstrate a practical proactive approach to change
  • Act as a critical issue point for queries from your immediate team
  • Create and maintain a positive working relationship with the wider SSCL and the client
What youll bring:
  • Experience in leading a team that delivers Expenses Compliance, Relocation services to large government clients
  • Experience of using Oracle - Metis and SOP
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills; specifically focused on Excel, Outlook and Word (Visio and PowerPoint are desirable)
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify potential on the team and further development, whilst delegating tasks and empower your team.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, organisational and planning skills
