LocationNewcastle, UKThe RoleThe End User Computing team is part of the wider Service Delivery team and provides EUC services across the EMEA region. The primary focus of the EUC team is to provide a modern, consistent, and seamless user experience for users when using the NRF services,which include Windows 10/11, iOS mobile devices and Azure Virtual Desktop.The EUC Analyst (MDM) will be primarily focussed on management of the NRF desktop, mobile and virtual builds, with a strong emphasis on the MDM Subject Matter Expert (SME) role. This will include management of the estate using technologies such as Intune,AAD, Active Directory, Group Policy and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager to deploy end user devices and core applications. The requirement of the role is not only to maintain the existing builds but to play an integral part in ensuring the user experienceis aligned to the market direction and is future proofed. This is an exciting opportunity for an End User Computing specialist, who has a strong MDM background wanting to be involved in global delivery of a successful End User Computing experience.The responsibilities of the role are, but not limited to:

  • Designing, managing, and supporting core EUC services, ensuring these are updated to incorporate new baselines from a security and hardware perspective.
  • Managing and maintaining EUC services using traditional and modern tools, such as GPO, MECM and Intune. These include the management of Windows 10/11, iPhones, iPads, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) services.
  • Aligning with other functions across EMEA Service Delivery to support the integration of modern capabilities across EUC services, such as Azure, Single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA) device/app VPN, content management, wireless profiles,and security.
  • Adhering to the packaging lifecycle (discovery, packaging, testing, release) for all deployments
  • Design, development, and maintenance of software packages using MECM, Intune, Microsoft App-v, Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • Maintaining a regular release cadence for software to ensure no end of life (EoL) or end of support (EoS) software exists on the EUC estate
  • Driving an “Evergreen” approach managing the EUC estate
  • Ensuring security compliance across the EUC estate
  • Providing 3rd line escalation support to the EMEA Service Desk and regional support teams within agreed service levels
  • Following ITIL best practices for Incident, Problem, Configuration and Release Management
  • Establishing effective working relationships with other IT teams and with users
  • Driving innovation within the EUC area
  • Adhering to applicable technical and security standards and procedures
Skills and Experience Required
  • Strong experience with Intune, iOS, M365 and Microsoft Operating System Deployment (Windows 10/11)
  • Strong experience in managing and supporting virtual desktop technologies.
  • Strong experience in managing and supporting Mobile Device Management technologies using Microsoft Intune
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Strong working knowledge of application packaging using tools such as Admin Studio
  • Experience with Microsoft’s servicing models for Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 implementations and migrations
  • Experience with scripting technologies
  • Experience in Desktop Application License Management and licensing
  • Proven track record at being detail orientated and delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive experience of working in an end user computing team including a track record of mentoring and building a high-quality team
  • A sound understanding of the future direction and roadmaps for Citrix and Microsoft end point management technologies
  • Experience of successfully applying and maintaining desktop security and the compliance levels associated with this
  • Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of PC build process optimization and modern techniques for managing the desktop
  • Strong planning, communications, and stakeholder management experience.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to build and leverage strong relationships with 3rd parties
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and sound judgment resolving issues in a complex environment
  • Strong organizational and detailed oriented capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Highly motivated and results oriented
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business and technical priorities
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
  • ITIL Foundation qualified
  • MCSE certification is desirable
