Job Description

Salary: Band 11, £51,153 - £55,803Location: Agile between home and Forth Banks Police Station, NewcastleHours/Contract: Full time, permanent The roleWe have an exciting opportunity to join Northumbria Police as an Estates Projects Lead.You will report directly to the Head of Estates and will lead an effective estates change delivery service which contributes to the delivery of the Estates strategy, meets operational policing requirements and Force objectives.What you’ll do

  • Leading and managing a professional and proactive service in respect of estates change on behalf of the organisation.
  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of all legislation, guidance and best practice impacting on the Estates Section.
  • Providing project management, technical and contractual advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Leading on the drafting and submission of individual project option appraisals, feasibility reports, business cases and board papers.
  • Leading on the development of project briefs and specifications ensuring at all times that these meet the operational requirements of the organisation and be capable of presenting and communicating complex technical matters to senior leaders.
  • Leading on determining appropriate procurement routes for design and construction contracts ensuring that these deliver value for money, timely performance and appropriate risk transfer between the organisation and its supply chain. In liaison with ProcurementDepartment ensure that procurement exercised are appropriately managed.
What you’ll bring
  • Degree in quantity / building surveying, building services engineering, architecture or facilities management.
  • Evidence of professional and technical knowledge of construction procurement process and contract management e.g. JCT and NEC forms of contracts and contract remedies.
  • Previous experience in a similar role involving complex estates change management implementation.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution and evidence of continuous professional development.
