Job Description

Job Title: Build Estimator - CivilsLocation: Office Based (Head Office) Dunston NE11Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annumJob type: Full time, permanentRole Overview: As Build Estimator you will be responsible for preparing and winning, profitable work. You will act as the principal point of contact between Hunter Masons’ client and various professional teams throughout the tendering process. You will be responsible forestablishing and communicating to the bid team the requirements of each tender.Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for residential refurbishment projects.
  • Vendor and Supplier Relations: Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and ensure the procurement of materials and services aligns with project budget requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities within project scopes, providing insightful recommendations to enhance project feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Budget Development: Collaborate with project managers to develop and refine project budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and financial constraints.
  • Value Engineering: Evaluate alternative materials, methods, and designs to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Documentation: Prepare and present detailed and accurate cost estimates, reports, and documentation to support project proposals and client presentations.
  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to provide up-to-date information for decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience as an Estimator in various refurbishment projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software and tools; strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly within a project team.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred
