Account Manager / Business Development

  • Reporting to the European Sales Manager
  • Region - North East of England to Scotland
Our international design and manufacturing client now has an opportunity for a talented Business Development Account Manager. Working specifically in the chemical and pharmaceutical markets specialising in chromatography purification instruments and consumables.Responsibilities:Business Development Account Manager will focus on solution-selling to generate revenue by developing the North East of England and Scotland customers through forecasting, lead generation, qualification and closing sales.Essential functions:
  • Account management for North East and Scotland
  • Identify new customers for our products and services
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers through managing and their requirements
  • Communicating with customers, internal divisions and senior management to maximise a first-class service
  • Negotiate sales to meet both customers and company needs
  • Utilising all social media resources to profile our services, products, events and launches
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support service
  • Identify and attend appropriate trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Identify competitors discriminators as well as their market strategies, technically and financially
  • Maintaining excellent records of all customer accounts using a CRM system
  • Producing monthly forecasting for management
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office application tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • This role will be home-based, but you will also attend the office for some meetings
  • There is travel involved, requiring you to stay in hotels potentially weekly
Qualifications:
  • Educated to degree standard
  • Two years of professional Sales & Account Management experience
  • Desirable - knowledge of Automated Flash Chromatography, Redisep Columns, Preparative HPLC, SFC, High Precision Syringe pumps and reciprocating pumps
  • You must have impeccable integrity in your work
