Job Description

SHEQ ManagerPontypoolPermanentWe are recruiting for an experience SHEQ Manager to support a leading national manufacturing company based in Torfaen. Our client is looking for someone who can deliver guidance, support and communicate with stakeholders from all levels.The successful will support the Managing Director and the senior management team on all SHEQ related topics, legislation, and initiatives. The role will provide regular guidance to key stakeholders in line with the agreed strategy and ensure that this isbeing cascaded appropriately. They will need to have extensive knowledge and understanding of Environmental and Health and Safety legislation, as well as previous experience in a SHE or SHEQ role within manufacturing.Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake specific SHEQ inspections and audits
  • Provide advice and support to achieve the highest level of SHEQ performance.
  • Facilitate SHEQ meetings as required including; incident investigation meetings to ensure any SHEQ concerns are noted and addressed.
  • Coordinate the health, safety and environmental programme on all projects that you are overseeing.
  • Ensure compliance of site SHEQ standards.
  • Ensure that all legal statutes, statutory instruments and guidance documents are followed.
  • Carry out safety inspections and produce written reports documenting your findings.
  • Investigate Accident / incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences produce investigation reports
  • Identify SHEQ training requirements.
  • Produce a Monthly SHEQ report
  • Manage ISO9001 Quality Management accreditation.
  • Set up and Manage ISO14001 Environmental Management.
  • Set up and Manage ISO45001 Occupational Health and Safety.
Required Experience:
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Experience of carrying out detailed site SHEQ inspections
  • Experience of carrying out SHEQ Investigations / producing detailed accident investigation reports.
  • Experience of ensuring that sites are working towards site SHEQ and environmental requirements.
  • Experience of working within a factory base SHEQ role
  • Excellent understanding of SHEQ training requirements within the Structural Steel Construction sector ideally.
  • Experience of behavioural change and culture
  • Chartered Member of IOSH
  • IEMA qualification
