Job Description

Are you a forward-thinking leader with a passion for environmental sustainability and a drive to make a real impact Were seeking a highly motivated individual to join a fantastic organisation as the Head of Waste Transformation Programme. This opportunityis offered on a fixed term contract basis for 2 years.As the Head of Waste Transformation Programme, you will play a pivotal role in leading a strategic change within our clients recycling and waste services. Your leadership will ensure that the programme is delivered on time and within budget. You will be responsiblefor tracking key outcomes, benefits, and risks, and ensuring they are addressed effectively. Your work will align with broader policy agendas, including climate change and the circular economy, to achieve the highest possible recycling targets while maximizingefficiency and effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:

Lead the delivery of the Waste Transformation Programme, ensuring it is fully embedded in our operations.
Oversee the governance framework and ensure that business cases for change are robust.
Manage workstream leads and deliver outputs effectively.
Drive continuous improvement within the service and promote a culture of performance and delivery.
Lead the delivery of capital work projects within the programme.
Work closely with external partners and stakeholders to support transformation efforts.

The candidate:

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in complex project delivery.
Expert knowledge of program/project management methodologies.
Extensive experience leading business improvement initiatives.
Management experience at a senior level within a PMO function, preferably within the waste sector.
Proven ability to get things done and develop effective internal and external relationships.
Logical, problem-solving approach and evidence-based decision-making.
