Job Description

Are you a flexible team player with a passion for working with young people Have you got experience of supporting young people with mental health and complex needsWe are recruiting for a number of temporary young persons support workers to join Vetro Housing to support a number of clients within the NPT area in their YP services and hostels.Young Persons Support WorkerLocation:NeathHours: Full time and Part time hours available (shift pattern is flexible, weekdays/weekends)Shift Pattern: 8am - 8pm / 8pm - 8amThe focus of the role is to support young people (16+) with living independently within a supported accommodation service. Many of the YP have experienced a range of trauma from an early age and can display challenging behaviour from time to time due to theiremotions. You must be approachable, patient, empathetic and be able to build rapport with the young people.You will work across a number of young persons hostels throughout NPT on a flexible basis and have the choice to work either days or nights shifts.The main duties of a young persons support worker are:

  • Ensuring that the Young People comply with hostel rules and regulations
  • Provide advice, assistance and support to the Young People
  • Act as an appropriate role model to the young people
  • Ensuring that health and safety procedures are explained and adhered to within the service
  • To ensure standards of customer care are to a high standard
