We have recently been bought by Marston Holdings, who are investing heavily in future-proofing their business by adopting cutting-edgetechnology.Are you an experienced Engineer We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team! This is a full time, permanent role based in our office in Neath.As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will document product drawings and specifications ensuring the needs of the customer and regulatory requirements are met. Whilst also working on detailed product design, development, and product testing.Core Duties & Responsibilities:* Conceptualise product solutions from defined requirements and other sources.* Initial costing analysis mapped to project timeline.* Fully define design documentation to BS8888.* Provide guidance to team on good GD&T practice.* DFM experience for plastic, sheet metal, and machined components.* Design for cable management and electrical safety.* Design for repeatable and reliable production assembly.* Manage prototype and first off built assembly.* Lead DFMEA activity to identify design risk.* Lead design of experiments activities including test matrices and plans as part of product development.* Manage product test program to completion.* Liaise with external bodies on rapid prototyping manufacture of R&D samples.* Liaise with external suppliers to provide technical support during first off setup.What we are looking for:* Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering* Minimum 5 years experience in a production environment with ISO 9001 accreditation (Essential)* Experience using 3D parametric CAD, preferably Solid works.* Experience using PDM systems for document control.* Proficiency with Microsoft office [Word, Excel]* Experience in designing enclosures for electronics.What you will get in return:* Salary of £45,000 - £50,000 DOE* 26 days holiday plus bank holidays* Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Package NB subject to eligibility criteria.* Healthcare Cash Plan.* Staff benefits designed to suit your lifestyle, from discounts on high street and online shopping to travel, socialising and wellbeing.If this sounds like the job for you, please apply....New starters will be subject to clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and a County Court Judgment check.
