Job Description

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or support worker who can support children in an SEN school in Neath.The school is for children aged 3-11 years with a wide range of learning difficulties needs from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autistic SpectrumCondition (ASC). In addition to learning needs some pupils have sensory needs including visual impairments, hearing impairments and multi-sensory impairments; some pupils also have complex medical needs.Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and caring individual who can support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. Personal care may be involved.The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants and support workers who have some experience in a similar role. The contract will be on-going with the possibility of permanency for the right candidate.Supply Teacher Contract/Position Details

Supply Teacher Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • It is desirable that you have experience working in Primary or Secondary Education.
  • Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) - We can help you with this
  • Team Teach is desired but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months.
  • Strong Behaviour Management skills are a must.
To be eligible for any teaching job with Prospero Teaching, you must
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child related references.
