Job Description

Hoop Professional Services are supporting a charitable organisation based in Nantgarw and they are currently looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to join them on a 22 month FTC.They are an amazing organisation who provide support to local people in South Wales, the teams comprise of really values driven individuals and they have a welcoming, supportive company culture.They offer hybrid working, with the expectation to be in the office 2/3 days a week.They have gone through a restructure which is how this role has come about, and the purpose of this role is to provide support to the head of finance in managing the full payroll process including any reports or analysis. Their payroll comprises of 700 employees,some on timesheets, others on monthly salaries.Responsibilities:

  • Processing monthly payroll accurately and timely
  • Process accurate entries for overtime and sickness
  • Ensure that all data is correct and updated including tax codes, trade union subscriptions and timesheet data
  • Manage the pension auto enrolment
  • Maintain correct PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payment records, SSP, SMP, SSP.
  • Ensure payroll reports are produced at month end
  • Provide reports including headcount, total reward, gender pay gap
  • Assist in the payroll audit.
  • Payroll reconciliation.
  • Investigate discrepancies.
  • Manage queries.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Line manage a payroll officer.
Personal specification:
  • Strong payroll background working on similar size payrolls.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in not for profit / third sector is desirable.
  • Experience working with timesheets desirable.
