Job Description

Our client is a market-leading company based in Morley (LS27) and as part of their continued quest to improve standards and quality seeks a Process Improvement Engineer to act as a Technical Specialist within their business.The position is of a senior nature within the business and the Process Improvement Engineer/Technical Specialist is expected to take a leading role in all business-related activities.Role Purpose:

  • To ensure efficient operation of machinery
  • To lead and coordinate the technical aspects of production machinery and procedures.
  • To coordinate/ lead with other departments to ensure these objectives are achieved.
Playing a key role in the future of the business the successful candidate[s responsibilities include:
  • Participate/Lead in Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Root cause analysis using Lean Manufacturing tools
  • Managing and coordinating purchase requisitions, project documentation (e.g., cycle time trials, SAT’s, FAT’s) & sampling data review process.
  • Leading, coordinating, managing, and supervising the delivery and sampling of new cells (Automation/ Robotics).
  • Explore, evaluate, and initiate project engineering process across multiple technical disciplines internally and externally with other sites.
  • Provide support to Manufacturing, Maintenance, QA, Customer Services, Supply Chain & the Tool Room, with technical assistance.
  • Maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems, resolving all problems (robots, automation + assembly)
  • Design and implement basic modifications to resolve machine problems.
  • Create SOP’s
  • Dismantle, inspect, and overhaul equipment, as required by preventive maintenance program and production schedules.
  • Ensure documentation for repair, maintenance activities and quality checks are recorded
  • Participate in new equipment/cell design.
  • Train others on job duties,
  • Perform daily systems checks to verify all quality checks are working properly.
  • Continuously maintain and advance skill level by attending seminars and vendor training,
  • Keeping up with current and future automation technologies current and future automation technologies
