International Decorative Surfaces are the UKs largest distributor of decorative surfaces specialising in flooring, worktops, laminates, compact, panel products, solid surface andwall panelling. With an annual turnover of more than £120 million we take the business of fulfilling our customers needs very seriously. A great EHS Administrator at IDS is organised in their approach, showing good attention to detail so their work is accurate and reliable. As a methodical and approachable person, you will be able to work well on your own and take full ownership and responsibilityfor the work you do.There are some specific skills and experience we are looking for from suitable candidates;

  • Experience in an EHS role or an interest in starting your career within EHS
  • Experience in an administration or data driven role
  • Confident in collating and analysing data, with the ability to present this in a clear and easy to understand manner
  • Excellent IT Skills, confident is using PowerPoint and Excel to an advanced level would be advantageous
  • Strong communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business
  • Risk assessment analysis experience would be desirable
What will I be doing in the roleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a new team to be based in our Morley office in Leeds. As a newly created role the successful candidate will have involvement in moulding the job as their experience and knowledge develops, with additional EHS focusand projects on the horizon.A great EHS Administrator will help keep our business running smoothly and positively impact the colleagues throughout the IDS business. To support the business you will;
  • Collate & maintain accurate EHS records, monthly statistics including accident and incident, waste, energy usage, training matrix, First Aid
  • Produce monthly reports based on those statistics
  • Ensure senior management are aware of issues that may affect the business at any time
  • Create content for communication of key EHS issues within the business in conjunction with Ops Director
  • Review, update and communicate IDS risk assessments
  • Assist with the Carbon Zero project for IDS
  • Produce materials for use for onsite EHS noticeboards, in liaison with IDS Marketing department. Create standard template for noticeboards and provide regular updated materials.
  • Be a safety champion - support Operations Directors to change the culture in the business through the implementation and support of the EHS strategy, e.g. work towards ensuring branches take ownership for local EHS issues.
  • Assist in any projects which relate to EHS. e.g. Best Practice.
