Cabling Engineers x 2Molesworth£19 per hour2 month contractWere looking to recruit 2 cabling engineers to join a project that will mainly be auditing and tagging an underground cable network at RAF Molesworth.The role is mainly about investigation into the underground network and then work in conjunction with a company from the USA to determine the general state of the network and what each cable does what. its mainly twisted pair with a split between fibre and copper.Network is accessed via manholes and each pit ranges between being perhaps 3 feet and down to 10 feet, so youll need to be confined space trained and any experience of harness and being lowered into pits would be useful (Specialist gear will be provided by the company.) BT have sold the network in the ground to the US Air Force, but the documentation isnt that clear, which is why an audit is needed.Who are youits not a traditional cabling job as you want be installing anything new, but a good all round cabling engineer will be able to enter the contract and do what is needed, which is to figure out what does what on the network. On that basis, youll be well versed in all aspects of cabling across copper, fibre and twisted pair and be used to investigating and testing the network.Key points - need to be confined space trained and be able to provide the normal hand tools and PPE and if you have done something like this before - the investigation about what cable does what and then the associated tagging then it would be useful.This is an initial 2 month contract and is an hourly rate with weekly pay. Normal working day, so a straight Monday to Friday for 40 hours. Required skills
