Job Description

DevOps Engineer - ManchesterMy client are a multi-award winning consultancy who were named by Forbes in 2022s list of Best Management Consulting Firms. They have also won multiple awards for their Diversity & Inclusion practices which couples with their awards for "Best Place To Work"due to their culture of growth & development for employees.As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for the design and implementation of applications build, release, deployment and configuration activities.Operating within multi-functional collaborative teams youll gather requirements, evaluate tools, implement and updating solutions.This position is also responsible for building and executing test plans, provision environments, application performance reviews in addition to assisting with the migration of legacy systems, whilst triaging and fixing operational issues.You will also be involved in building, managing and updating a shared Kubernetes platform, as well as creating reusable pipelines for automated testing and deployment.Day-to-day you will:

  • Transform technical requirements into an effective DevOps toolchain to enable product delivery, assure and implement deployment strategies and apply different techniques and methodologies to analyse and resolving problems, working up new practices and proceduresor modify existing processes to improve performance.
  • Youll build great working relationships with a range of multidisciplined colleagues within the Department to produce comprehensive technical documentation for wider consumption.
  • Work across a number of section and support product teams to write code that is simple and flexible to build, configure and deploy.
  • Collaborate across teams and liaise with Lead/Senior DevOps Engineers and Technical Architects to investigate technical solutions.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need
  • Experience of developing and supporting cloud-based applications (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a DevOps environment - Continuous Integration & Deployment, delivery methods and techniques, including scrum experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code.
  • Knowledge of implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrable experience of using Kubernetes, and knowledge of associated technical resources such as Flux and Helm.
  • Experience in automated testing is preferred but not essential.
