Job Description

SEN School in the Merton borough is currently recruiting for a confident SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA). This full time & long term post is to commence in April 2021This is an inclusive Special Educational Needs School with pupils who have been diagnosed with SEMH, ASD and ADHD and have EHCPs. Exemplary Headteacher who is focused to the success of the school and to ensure that all pupils are the best versions of themselves. SEN Teachers, support staff and leadership are supportive and dedicated to the pupils. Excellent facilities at school including outdoor sports equipment, recording equipment and additional outside space as well as state of the art classroom facilities.Currently they are recruiting for a strong, confident, positive, vibrant, dynamic & pro-active SEN Teaching Assistant. Your previous or current role must have been as either an SEN TA / LSA/ Behaviour Mentor/ Learning Mentor or Youth Worker who has great SEN experience with children and young people with ASD/ SEMH/ ADHD/ CAMHS and or behavioural difficulties. This role would be working with a pupil(s) on either a 1:1 basis or within small groups and experience in either a PRU/ Alternative Provision/ SEN School or Mainstream School with behaviour difficulties.Successful SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Must have experience of supporting children Challenging Behaviour (ieSEMH/CAMHS/ADHDetc)
  • Must be a confident, strong, dedicated, dynamic and proactive SEN TA/ LSA/ learning Mentor/ Behaviour Mentor and or Youth Worker
  • Must have worked in wither an SEN School (behaviour)/ PRU/ Alternative Provision or mainstream primary or secondary school
  • Experience supporting students within SEN school’s or provisions would be an advantage.
  • Personality - an adventurous personality with an interest in sports activities
  • Will live in commutable distance to the borough of Merton
