Teaching AssistantLocation: York, North YorkshireStart Date: As soon as possibleSalary: up to £85 per dayContract Type: Long-Term / Full-TimeGSL Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a community secondary school in North Yorkshire, around 15 miles north of central York. The position is for an immediate start, on a full-time basis and will be on an on-going, long-term basis.About the School:

• A small community secondary school and sixth form with 600 pupils on-roll.
• Graded as Good in their most recent 2022 Ofsted Inspection.
• School Day is from 08:40-15:40.
• A place where students are supported and encouraged to reach their full potential every day.
• Highly supportive environment for staff to develop and progress their career.

Teaching Assistant

• Full-Time position, Monday to Friday, from 08:40 to 15:40, Term Time only.
• Supporting a student with Cerebral Palsy on a 1:1 basis.
• Providing academic and emotional support, whilst supporting the pupil move around the school. Please note that personal care is not required.
• Encourage independence where possible and create a safe and positive learning environment.

Teaching Assistant Minimum Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young people or adults with additional needs, such as in a care setting or educational setting.
• Be of a calm, supportive and nurturing persona.
• Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one via GSL Education.
• Be able to provide a 10-year career history including relevant references that cover the last two years.
