Job Description

Our client is and Outstanding Care Provider recognised for delivering exceptional care and support to individuals in Devon and they are now looking for a Part Qualified Accountant to join their teamTheir commitment to excellence has earned them an Outstanding rating with CQC, and they take pride in their dedicated team of professionals who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of those they care for.Role Overview: We are currently seeking a Part-Qualified Accountant to join our clients dynamic team based in their head office in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual with a strong background in accounting whois eager to further their career in a rewarding and supportive environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in our finance department, working closely with our Finance Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our financial systemsand processes.Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the Finance Manager in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support business growth and sustainability.
  • Management Accounts: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Manage and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Audit Support: Support the annual audit process, liaising with auditors and providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Ad-hoc Reporting: Provide financial analysis and support to other departments as required, assisting with special projects and initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
