Job Description

The RoleRole Purpose To maximise Area sales potential by increasing product sales to the identified customer segments and by achieving growth in the size of the customer base, through the effective management and development of a portfolio of customersKey Results Areas Strategic:

  • To help deliver Minsters vision
  • To ensure that Minster is the fastest and most effective distributor at introducing new products to its chosen markets through:
    • Supporting the increased penetration of the targeted customer groups
    • Supporting the achievement of sales targets of new products whilst maintaining growth on existing products
Business Improvement:
  • Support the introduction of sales of new and specialist products to customers within the Area to ensure sales and margin targets are achieved
  • Increase and maximize current sales volumes
  • Seek out opportunities to identify future and existing sales opportunities within the Area
  • Ensure that all areas of customer expectation are exceeded
  • Build close and trusted working relationships with operational colleagues to ensure excellent levels of customer service and satisfaction are delivered to customers, to achieve the companys goals
Day to Day
  • Ensure that all H&S targets are met
  • Ensure that the Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct & Action are incorporated within the working environment
  • Work with the Regional Sales Director to define and implement area sales plans
  • Develop, own and manage personal customer portfolio
  • Develop effective supplier relationships in order to maximise customer sales opportunities
  • Maximise opportunities to continually learn about new products and to improve selling skills
  • Achievement of sales and margin targets
  • Achievement of customer base growth and customer spend targets
  • Support all company customer service initiatives
  • Work with operational colleagues to manage debt performance of customer base
Required Qualifications
  • Clean driving licence
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a proactive sales environment
  • Proven track record of results achievement
  • Ability to self-manage within job role
  • Proven ability to communicate and influence effectively
  • Ability to network both within internal and external teams
  • Ability to work within a team locally, regionally, and nationally
  • Knowledge of distribution sector and geographical area an advantage, but not essential
