Job Description

Senior Mortgage Specialist - ArrearsOur client, a successful and well-respected mortgage provider, are currently recruiting for Arrears Specialist to join their team. The main purpose of the role is to undertake all mortgage back-book administration and projects; including arrears and forbearance, short term loans and development & commercial loans borrowers.This is a permanent full-time position, working from home initially. From 2021 onwards your working week with be split between office and home working.Key Responsibilities will include:

  • To facilitate the recovery of funds owed
  • Rehabilitation of customers to reduce the number of Recoveries/Repossessions
  • To review all FCA Guidance and ensure the Society remains compliant by revising policy and procedures accordingly
  • Coach other team members to facilitate sharing of specialist knowledge
  • To ensure efficient processes and procedures are in place to monitor and address mortgage arrears and forbearance
  • To ensure there are monitoring processes and control on interest only mortgage repayment strategies/mortgages due to expire and those have expired
  • Ensure appropriate controls and monitoring are in place for large loan management, the quality of the book, older customer management, vulnerable customers and for the development of risk recording/management systems
  • Skillcast learning to be completed within set timescales
  • Ensuring the customer journey results in good customer outcome
  • The security of customer and employee data
  • Skills/Experience required:
  • Ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines
  • Previous mortgage arrears experience
  • Financial Services background
  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Calm and focused under pressure
  • Customer Service experience
  • Previous experience in a Commercial Lending Environment (desirable)
  • CeMAP qualified (desirable)
  • Some Supervisory experience (desirable)
