Job Description

We are looking for a Sustainability Manager to join our client who is one of the leaders in their sector and are always growing and moving forward. This is a new role to the business and will work alongside the Sustainability and Property teams. The successful candidate must be passionate about the environment and be able to deliver a clear strategy on how to guide a business to a much more sustainable future. The person must not be afraid to ask questions and be a real expert in their field. As the Sustainability Manager your responsibilities will include:-

  • Responsible for building on the energy reduction progress in the UK business, before expanding on the strategies that will steer the European, Asian and American interest too
  • You will lead on everything energy, so must be a great communicator with a genuine passion for sustainability
  • Must have a technical mindset as the role involves data and reporting
  • Be able to deliver a clear strategy and support the business in their journey to reduce their carbon footprint
  • Key competencies for this role include:-
  • History of developing and delivering energy and carbon reduction projects
  • Experience in designing and delivering a NetZero pathway
  • Technically minded, with strong experience in reporting and technical analysis
  • Knowledge of GHG accounting and reporting principles e.g. GHG Protocol
  • Strong experience of reporting to SBTi, GRI standards or CDP
  • Awareness of TCFD
  • Strong Excel capabilities – with the willingness and ability to learn further programmes and tools
  • Enjoy working with others, including external energy consultants, and taking the team with you on the journey
  • A proven track record of delivering carbon reduction projects
  • Strong interest in environmental issues
  • Proficiency in using MS Office
  • Efficient and effective project planning; an element of resourcing and budgeting would be ideal
  • Highly numerate and comfortable with large datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
