Job Description

Shillito Executive Search is excited to be working with a top UK Engineering and Manufacturing company, in their search for a Production Manager to join their Nottinghamshire based team.The tight-knit, family run business pride themselves on their high-quality, bespoke engineered commercial bodies. The right Production Manager will have experience in this area, will have experience in quality control and/or inspection and will be keen towork in a fast-paced environment.Location: MansfieldSalary: £30,000 to £40,000Benefits: - Free, On-Site Parking- Company PensionProduction Manager Responsibilities:Leading, motivating and supporting Production Department teams & Supervisors over two a shift working pattern.

  • Reporting Directly to the General Manager
  • Overall organisation of workflows and ensuring all project builds/repairs are completed within budget and deadline, to required safety and quality standards.
  • Development of staff & Supervisors over two shifts via continuous improvement, delegation, empowerment, and support
  • Overall management of Production budgets, identifying and implementing efficiencies or cost reduction methods where possible
  • Maintaining safe working practices including implementation and management of HSE, COSHH and PPE working practices, equipment maintenance and training.
  • Development and implementation of growth plans for department to meet our overall vision.
  • Developing, establishing, and implementing best practices for product builds, working closely with technical manager and other experts
  • Develop our operating systems that better control, monitor and record estimating, planning, and reporting of builds and material usage.
  • Operational planning of equipment, resources and floorspace
The right Production Manager will have:To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Production Management in a reactive manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to operate at a senior level, coupled with a personable and engaging approach to managing people on a day-to-day basis
  • Passion and proficiency in people management and development
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations
  • The ability to motivate people in a pressurised work environment.
  • The flexibility to work in response to our peak business periods which may include working additional hours, potentially at short notice, and may include occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and business awareness
  • The ability to interpret analytical information and product build specifications.
  • Strategic planning skills- equipment, resources, floorspace
