The role will require you to be able to be in the Mansfield office for a minimum of 1 day a week and to be able to undertake day tripsor overnight trips to sites in mid Wales on a regular (typically fortnightly) basis. There are a number of wonderful benefits that youll access being a part of our inclusive team including 27.5 days holiday (with an additional 6 daysflexi time), an option to work in a hybrid way, a great civil service pension scheme, generous gym membership contribution, and support for your professional membership.About the Engineer role: As ourEngineer, you willhelp to resolve the impacts of mining through the application of your civil engineering skill and experience.You will be part of the friendly and proactive Engineering team which pride themselves on their structured and mentored programme for professional development and training.Key responsibilities of our Engineer:Your principal area of work will be in designing environmental interventions for historic metal mine sites in mid Wales where we are working with Welsh Government and National Resources Wales to significantly improve river water quality affected by minewaterdischarges. You will also be supporting our subsidence and environmental work in the traditional UK coal mining regions.You will also be working alongside environmental scientists and project managers to investigate and report on future strategies for environmental improvement.About our Engineer:Were looking for someone who has:
