Job Description

Saint Mary’s Newborn Services Division is one service across two sites; the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is based on the Oxford Road Campus (ORC) and the Local Neonatal Unit based at Saint Marys at Wythenshawe.We have opportunities for Staff Nurses to join our team in one of our rotational posts, working across sites, providing you with a great opportunity to develop your skills and experience in different clinical settings. We are confident we can provide you with this experience and meet your aspirations by supporting you to work across the NICU and LNU who care for babies with differing needs. We specialise in providing care for a range of complex conditions such as:

  • respiratory diseases.• renal conditions.• cardiac conditions.• neurological conditions.• Babies requiring surgical care.• Complex genetic and metabolic disorders.• Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screening and treatment.
  • Whether you are a newly qualified or experienced Neonatal or Children’s/Adult Acute Care nurse looking to further your career and your professional future, we have the opportunities available to support you.We have an ongoing commitment to enhancing practice and staff development and are very keen to meet nurses new to the profession as well as experienced nurses. We expect all nurses to be dynamic and forward thinking with a desire to develop their skills and knowledge.Manchester Foundation Trust offers a comprehensive Preceptorship programme to all newly qualified staff. A 6-month Neonatal Induction programme is open to all newly qualified nurses and we welcome experienced staff who are new to neonatal care to join this programme. This course will give you the foundation knowledge and skills in neonatal care with the next step to undertake the Qualified Intensive Care Course following a period of consolidation. There is a national standard for staff who come into the specialty, and there is an expectation that you go onto complete this course to further develop your skills and knowledge to a higher level. You will be supported by a team of excellent Clinical Practice Educators and our amazing nursing team across Newborn Services.Whatever your background all programmes will aim to help you reach your next career goal within our exceptional Managed Clinical Service.You will be:
