Job Description

Sales ManagerComposites, Location: Remote / field based, Package: c£60-70k, car allowance, equity share scheme (25% of salary annually), Healthcare, Life insurance.Velocity Composites plc are the leading supplier of composite material kits to aerospace and other high-performance manufacturers. We are presently engaged in global growth by building strategic relationships with Prime and Tier 1 suppliers in the aerospaceindustry and growing momentum in markets including automotive, sports & leisure and wind.We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join our leadership team to support with the delivery of the strategic growth plan. This is a new role which is very much hands on, and offers opportunity for growth and development, and the scope tomake the role your own. Initially the role will be mainly customer facing, progressing to team management.The role:

  • Detail and enact the sales growth strategy to ensure that existing customer relationships are maintained globally, and new customer relationships are created in the requisite territories.
  • Help establish, build and lead the Sales & Programmes team, together with support from the Engineering team, ensure world-class account management and business development support is provided to each existing and new customer, no matter their global location.
  • Internally, you will collaborate directly with the Head of Engineering in order to ensure the correct level of technical and account management support is provided for customers to manage the initial engagement, RFQ process, bid submission, project implementationand infrastructure deployment.
  • Document and present visually compelling plans to engage at multiple levels in those target accounts leveraging CEO, CFO and Director relationships.
  • Develop strong relationships at blue chip customers with operations, supply chain, procurement, quality, engineering and management teams in order to engage with and create the joint execution plan for outsourcing to Velocitys world-class service model.
  • Manage engagement, keep focus and drive progress over an extended sales cycle of up to 18 months.
  • Write and present external bids (commercial business cases) for customers as part of the value proposition, clearly articulating the benefits of working with Velocity using a Total Cost of Ownership approach.
Candidate requirements:
  • Sales Manager / Business Development Manager experience with composites knowledge / experience from within aerospace or automotive manufacturing.
  • An ambitious individual who enjoys being hands on and wants to play an active part in the success of a global organisation experiencing significant growth. This will be an opportunity to take growth strategies and business plans to deliver them globally,identifying the necessary people and infrastructure investment in line with the business model.
  • Experience in creating technical & financials business cases, demonstrating real value for customers.
  • Detailed knowledge of advanced manufacturing, operational management, lean manufacturing, process improvements, waste reduction and large-scale outsourcing projects.
