Job Description

Full-time Principal Formulation Scientist role for a rapidly growing pharmaceutical firm Your new companyRapidly growing pharmaceutical company led by experts in the field. The company focuses on pharmaceutical development and clinical pharmacology. Main areas of expertise involve product design, authorisation, and supply. Your new roleYou will be expected to ensure excellence in their formulation science division. You will be responsible for driving the formulation science and guiding the development of simple and complex drug products. The role will also require managing client operationsincluding overlooking the regulatory components associated with client projects. You will also be expected to provide mentoring and coaching to more junior staff.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding formulation development as well as associated manufacturing processes for a variety of simple and complex drug products
  • Managing and overseeing the experimental activities required for solid oral dosage formulations (tablets and capsules)
  • Mentoring more junior scientific staff in formulation development
  • Designing product strategy based on robust understanding of global regulatory requirements for a CMC submission
  • Delivering product and technology solutions for client products
Less experienced candidates should also apply as there are other, more junior roles available in the same team.What youll need to succeed
  • MSc/PhD (or equivalent experience) in chemistry, pharmacology, or a related life sciences discipline, plus a strong track record within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in design, development, and manufacture of solid oral dosage formulations
  • Expertise in progressing the formulation components of various drug projects through different development phases across global markets
  • Good understanding of ICH quality guidelines and global CMC regulatory requirements
  • Ability to coach and mentor others
  • Communication, teamwork and leadership skills
