Job Description

Data Engineer

  • Initial 3 Month Contract - Likely to be extended
  • 100% Remote - Candidates must be based in UK or Europe
  • 8 hours per day 5 days per week
  • 450 - 550 per day
  • Pay rate is paid per day in Euros
  • Start date is ASAP
  • Outside IR35
Im currently working with a global leading e-commerce brand to find a Data Engineer Contractor with Data Engineering experience (coding, ETLs and Software Development) and experience working with cloud technology (AWS OR GCP - GCP preferred). Skills & Experience Requirement:
  • Advance coding skills in Python
  • Understanding on Linux servers and basic shell scripting is must.
  • Cloud experience with AWS or Google cloud. - Google Cloud is a preference.
  • Experience of
    • maintaining and supporting production level applications considering customers tight SLAs.
    • Observability, monitoring and alerting
  • Experience
    • in big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark etc is essential.
    • in Big Data pipelines development and troubleshooting is essential.
    • Orchestrator tools like Airflow is essential.
    • Building scalable and highly available big data services.
    • messaging systems such as kafka and Active MQ, - nice to have
    • Cloud technologies such as AWS/GCS and Kubernetes (dockerizing is must to have)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English Language)
  • Ownership and proactiveness
What You will be working on:
  • Maintain current Data Pipelines, reviewing longs and understanding any problems before troubleshooting and resolving the issues
  • Contribute towards migration to GCP Kubernetes based Cloud using Airflow
  • Contribute towards Splunk to ELK migration
  • Provision new Airflow and EMR clusters to onboard internal customers Improve the cluster provisioning and customer onboardings flows through Terraform scripts Contributing in migrating onprem Airflow clusters to Kubernetes Cloud Clusters
  • Manage observability via alerting on the daily dashboards.
