Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing As a hands-on Gardener, you’ll assist in making sure that the gardens are maintained to a high standard. You’ll be passionate, enthused and knowledgeable about the varied plants within the garden. This role will include a range of practical horticultural tasks to develop, enhance and conserve the garden and contribute to the delivery of projects.Cliveden is a diverse garden where all aspects of horticulture are carried out. Among the many tasks are weeding, mulching and leaf clearance as well as the planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials. A substantial part of the role will be to help cut numerous formal hedges, assist with the mowing of our fine lawns and to help the team with the planting of Cliveden’s renowned annual bedding displays. In addition, you’ll help with tasks as varied as deadheading, plant-specific pruning, pest/disease identification and treatment and propagation within our nursery and glasshouses. You will also support a senior colleague with the daily care of a specific garden area, ensuring high quality presentation and healthy plants are available for our visitors to enjoy throughout the year.You’ll also support garden volunteers and help them to make the most of their time here.
