Job Description

Senior Scientist - RadiochemistryLocation - CheshireSector - Drug DiscoveryContract - Permanent opportunity.Our client is a leading company, offering research services to the Drug Discovery sector. They collaborate with lead researchers and organisations to enhance the understanding of immunological, oncological, neurological and other disease areas. Based in Alderley Park, they are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join their Team as a Senior Scientist within Radiochemistry. If you are looking to work on exciting pre-clinical imaging drug discovery projects and want to further your career, then this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.The RoleThis is a role for individuals who have several years’ experience in radiochemistry relating to PET and SPECT research and production, either as a PhD, or a BSc / MSc and some experience in industry. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for supporting pre-clinical imaging studies, developing the radiochemistry protocols. You will run the studies and support on the production of radiotracers within a non-GMP environment. You will develop and identify potential new isotopes which could be used as radiotracers and implement them into studies.Skills and Experience Needed:Suitable applicants will have:

  • A PhD or Master’s - Focused around radiochemistry.
  • Significant experience and understanding of PET / SPECT imaging tracer research.
  • Strong understanding of both direct and in-direct labelling methods for small molecules, large molecules, biologics etc.
  • A strong ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A strong ability to problem-solve and take the lead on projects when needed.
