Job Description

Scientific Program ManagerLocation - MacclesfieldSector - Management, NeuroscienceSalary - up to £51,000 per annum (pro rata)9 MONTH FIXED-TERM CONTRACT (full-time)Our client is a leading company offering research services to the drug discovery sector, based in Alderley Park. They are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join their Syndicates team as a Program Manager,specifically working in neuroscience. It is a full-time position, offered as a 9-month fixed-term contract as maternity cover. The role is well-suited to candidates with experience in the leading projects involving multi-organisational collaboration, ideallyin a neuroscience, drug discovery, or biological background.The RoleThis is a position suitable for individuals with a scientific background, with experience in leading projects involving collaboration between multiple organisations. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing all activities related to the neuroscience syndicate, including liaising with external partners (including research charities and international pharmaceutical companies),
  • Contributing to the governance of the syndicate, leading meetings, and supporting with related activities,
  • Overseeing the research undertaken, working closely with members, partners, and colleagues,
  • Promoting the syndicate via both in-person and online events,
  • Identifying challenge areas for the syndicate to address, and working to implement these new processes,
  • Working with senior colleagues to identify and foster new syndicates.
Skills and Experience NeededAn ideal candidate will have:
  • A relevant degree in a biomedical science (e.g. neuroscience, biology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, etc)
  • PhD level qualification is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and managing multi-organisational projects
  • Experience working in neuroscientific research, either in academia or industry
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to work with varied and numerous organisations, effectively liaising with contacts and working towards and common objective
The PackageOur client is offering this opportunity as a 9-month fixed term contract, on a full-time basis. The salary offered is up to £51,000 per annum, pro ratad to the 9 month term. The position also comes with a competitive benefits package.
