Job Description

Operating Department PractitionerAnaesthetic & Recovery PractitionerMacclesfieldPermanent £35k - £42k depending on experienceJoin our dynamic and supportive team as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) specializing in Anaesthetic & Recovery. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting patients undergoing various elective procedures across a range of specialties,including General, Thoracic, Spinal, Neurological, Orthopaedic, Laparoscopic, Ophthalmic, Gynaecology, and Urology.Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating theatres and anaesthetic rooms for surgery, ensuring all necessary instrumentation, equipment, and supplies are in place while minimizing waste.
  • Complete patient records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Run theatre lists independently, demonstrating competency and efficiency.
  • Assist in assessing patients health and well-being, delivering care tailored to their individual needs.
  • Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives by collecting, organizing, and interpreting data, and implementing best practices.
  • Foster a safe and secure working environment, promoting infection control and leading knowledge-sharing within the team.
Requirements:
  • HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner or NMC registered Nurse with an Anaesthetic module.
  • Ideally possess ALS or ILS certification, or willingness to undergo relevant training.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills essential for maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
